The Burden in My Hand
A Marine's Story
Take a journey with two best friends as they escape New Jersey to Parris Island, and one must return eight years later to bury the other. You will be taken through those eight-years from a first-person perspective of what it is like to attend United States Marine Corps recruit training, the Fleet Marine Force, 9/11/2001, and the invasion of Iraq. Therein lies an explanation of what is in the minds of Marines, why we do what we do, and the struggles therein when we return home. It allows and understanding of PTSD veterans and their family, and their friends that may not have been able to take place before. You may not laugh, you might not cry, but you will be moved.
So, get up, read, and enjoy the ride.
